If you want to get the perfect sized jiu jitsu gi you have a couple of options. First, you should analyse the size charts above. If you are still unsure, then you can contact our customer service through email or social media. The other option is to lay your existing favourite gi out flat and compare the measurements with those of our gis above. This should help you find a good-fitting gi.

 

Our “L” sizes work as follows. An A2L gi is the same width in the body and waist as an A2, but has sleeve length and pants length equivalent to the next size up. So basically with the L sizes, the sleeves and pants increase in length but everything else stays the same. This is for our longer limbed customers.

 

Take a look at where the gi is made. Traditionally, gis made in China will have a very small amount of shrinkage and will hold their shape very well. Chinese white gis are very bright, compared to gis from Pakistan which often have a slightly creamier white. Chinese cotton is slightly stiffer. Gis that are made in Pakistan generally have a softer, more organic feel, and will shrink a little more. We consider this to be a traditional fit, because traditionally all gis were made in Pakistan, meaning that if you have been training for a while, you will be used to the way a Pakistan-made gi fits, washes, and feels. Gis that are made in Pakistan mould nicely to your body and will gradually shrink over time to the perfect fit (in theory.)
